It’s ‘back to school’ season this week, here in the UK…

But the start of any new season, and especially the start of a new school year, can often be hard for couples and families facing infertility or loss.

For me (Anna), I find that September often causes me to think about those ‘should have beens’ that never materialised…

The start of each September often serves to highlight our previous losses. We ‘should’ have had a second child starting this year, but instead we face yet another school year passing by without any more clarity about the future shape of our family at all…
