1-2-1 Peer Support

The SPACE miscarriage & infertility network is delighted to announce that it will now be making 1-2-1 Peer Support Buddies available to women.

So many women within this community tell us that what they need most is a friend to talk to - someone who really understands what they are going through.

Peer support is simply about connecting with someone else who has been through a similar thing, in order to feel less alone in those struggles.

It’s not a form of counselling, therapy or a professional advice service, although it can often complement them - and the SPACE team can also help signpost people to further support if required.

Anna Kettle, one of the founding team behind SPACE explains:

“Part of the beauty of 1-2-1 peer support is that it’s totally flexible. This means the details of where, when, and how often you choose to meet up with your buddy is really up to you to.

“So whilst some might just want to chat over the phone or via Zoom, others might prefer face to face meet ups over coffee, doing lunch together, going for a walk… or something else entirely.”

So how does it work in practice?

We can connect you with someone else in your area who has a similar story to you - be that early miscarriage, recurrent loss, infertility, secondary infertility, baby loss, or childlessness.

If you’d like to know more about this, please reach out to us!

Or to express interest in pursuing some 1-2-1 peer support, simply fill out a short form to tell us a bit more about yourself - and our team will do the rest.
